I recently took an Introduction to Aerial Yoga class, not at all expecting to enjoy it. To my surprise I absolutely loved the amazing stretches I experienced in supported inversions. I know my Pilates practice gave me the strength and body awareness to experience hanging upside down not as scary and uncomfortable but fun and challenging. Jules’ watchful eye—reminding me to engage core and lats, lift tall out of my pelvis, draw sitz bones together, extend spine, etc., etc., etc.—gave me the tools to work efficiently and beautifully in my silk.
I realize I now trust my body to move with intelligence. What a great and unexpected surprise. Thank you, Jules for always encouraging me to go deeper in this amazing practice!!!
I seldom break a sweat during Pilates classes with Jules so some would think that I am not getting much of a workout. What I have found since starting classes a year ago is that I am much more mindful of how I move my body. I am learning how to be more economical in my movements and that mindfulness has carried over to my other activities which are weight training, running and cross-country skiing.

THANK YOU! I have been digging trenches, hauling concrete etc. and keeping up with people much younger than me. I wake up without sore muscles and ready to go. I can feel those core muscles at work!

There are classes available for all levels and since Jules has so many years of experience she is great at modifying an exercise or making it more challenging to accommodate everyone’s needs.

I am bionic: two resurfaced knee caps and three back surgeries, one of which was a fusion. Jules always finds Pilates exercises I CAN do! She is one of a kind: never judges, leads by example, funny and well versed in life. It’s a winning combination that I heartily recommend. And then there are the cherry almond brownies that occasionally make it to the studio…
Just wanted you to know what a difference yesterday’s workouts made. Last night I was able to sleep on my back for the first time in several months–not distorting shoulders in usual “fetal position” mode.
I liked the class right away, but at first my knees and feet ached. I have plantar fasciitis and have been unable to go barefoot or wear shoes without inserts for years.
When you start a class with Jules, she asks you if you have any special issues and tries to incorporate movement to assist you in your recovery.
Gradually my feet became less painful when I was in class. After awhile, I experimented with wearing sandals and dress shoes, and eventually was able to abandon my inserts entirely. Now I can even walk barefoot.
I have started my journey. I have felt my strength and balance improve which means skiing, gardening and housework is easier and more fun.
I wish everybody could do yoga and Pilates with Jules. We would have a better world!
