At the 1st Anniversary Party, Leslie won a month of Pilates. Here’s what Leslie has to say about the beginning of her journey into total Pilates immersion.
On April 1, I started my free month of Pilates with an evening mat class. My plan is to take 4 classes a week during the month of April. As I discovered when I went to schedule the classes, that’s a lot of classes! It’s going to give me the opportunity to branch out a bit–I’ve mixed in Jump Board, CoreAlign, and Mat classes with my regular twice a week Equipment classes.
When I started at Jules Pilates, I wasn’t sure what to expect–I had taken Mat classes over the years and they were always something I tolerated, but never enjoyed. If you’d asked me last year how I would feel about doing Pilates classes 4 times a week, I would have said you’d have to be crazy to want to do that. Now, I’m looking forward to it! I can’t say enough good things about Jules–she makes Pilates interesting and fun. I always enjoy coming to class, even when she throws challenging things at us.
[ed. note :), thanks Leslie!]
Mat classes are still pretty hard for me and Wednesday’s class was no exception. I made my first attempt at Seal, which I refer to as “The Funky Pretzel”. Like many Pilates exercises, it takes a few tries to get them. Like many Pilates exercises, I imagine it may take few tries to get it. Some of them, like Teaser, remain elusive for a long time. I do know that I’ll have a good time trying along the way.
